Matthew ROSE scored the winner in a 1-0 defeat.
Harewood missed a fucking sitter last minute.
'04 I think it was.

Yes, the 88 cup game is the real memory. I can't even remember having a ticket or where it was for, but I know me and the little mob I was with went in near the dugouts, wondering how hairy it would be in with the QPR only to find their side terrace rammed with Hammers.
"West Ham here, West Ham there, West Ham fucking everywhere!"
Wasn't that the match where german old bill were over to see how it's done? Plod were lucky that we were on our best behviour. Had we all known what the score was going to be, the match would never have restarted.

0-1 Frankie Mac scoring right in front of us. Being almost crushed to death when we entered the away end until they opened up the rest of the terrace

Scored in the first at Hampden. I think David COOPER got the other.
The return leg over there was nil a piece I think.
Well I think that's what happened!

That is correct Grumps, was the play off to get into the 1986 World Cup. I'm sure he scored in the 2nd leg as well, dinked it over the keeper.

Rose was it? Like Woody says, Bircham was a dirty little cunt that day, that's probably why he's the one that sticks in my head. A dire afternoon of football either way.

Yeah, that was him. Hated those cunts ever since that day and their fucking shitty bastard fans. We beat them late on at ours a few weeks later, I went fucking mental at that one.

Wasn't just a crappy flight either, I think Scotland had played in Australia so it was a proper long haul job.
I could however be wrong.
That cup game in 88 was ridiculous. More West Ham fans on the sides of the pitch than there were QPR fans in the stand. Bloody hilarious and a little scary for a youngster.

It was Matthew Rose not Bircham. Was at that one as you say poor game.Remember Paul Furlong committing a blatant foul by the touchline in the build up for their goal.
